Arrels: cooking from the roots in Gata
At Arrels Racó Gastronòmic they don't follow the rules: they reinterpret them. A corner with a Mediterranean soul on the Plaza de España in Gata de Gorgos, where traditional cooking takes on new life.
Tradition and innovation
Arrels describes itself as a gastronomic corner with roots running deep into the land around it. Traditional cooking is reinterpreted with modern techniques, local produce and boundless creativity. The team treats every dish as a story: taking care over the details, surprising with flavours and respecting the essentials. “We don't just come to feed you; we come to move you.”
From Gata sobrasada to chilli crab
The menu blends the Marina Alta larder with nods to other cuisines: flame-grilled aubergine with Gata sobrasada and cane honey, figatell from Gata, «coquetes escaldàs», the Arrels poché blowtorched at the table, or an authentic Singapore chilli crab recipe. The offer is rounded off with long-fermentation dough cocas, black Angus burgers and takeaway food.
