La Trastienda, wine and tapas in the heart of Xàbia
In the heart of Jávea's old town, La Trastienda Wine & Tapas Bar pairs Spanish and Asian tapas made with local market produce with a blackboard of wines and cavas by the glass that never stops changing.
A characterful corner of the old town
La Trastienda stands on Calle Príncipe de Asturias, in a stone house with a white awning and tables by the door. Inside, wooden beams, shelves lined with bottles and a bar made of colourful planks set the tone: an informal, relaxed and exclusive atmosphere, “in keeping with the Jávea-Mediterranean way of life”, with a very international clientele.
Spanish and Asian tapas
The concept is fusion cooking: Spanish and Asian tapas made with the finest local market ingredients. Among the dishes they have featured on their blackboard and social media are house classics such as the Achilipún scallops and the prawn carpaccio with lime shavings.
- Achilipún scallopsone of the house's signature tapas
- Prawn carpacciowith lime shavings
- Noodles with prawns
- Empanadilla IndiaIndian-style pasty
- Thai chicken wings
- Teriyaki sirloin
- Oxtail
Wine by the glass and a cellar full of surprises
The cavas and wines by the glass change constantly on the blackboard, and the bottle list always holds surprises from small Spanish wineries chosen for their quality and exclusivity. A wide selection of beers, cocktails and aperitifs completes the offer. The Guía Repsol has awarded it a Solete. It opens Monday to Saturday, for lunch and dinner.
