Saltea, rice and sea on the Greenwich meridian
Since 2012, Saltea has paid tribute to Mediterranean cuisine at the Marina Greenwich port in Altea: rice dishes, fresh fish and seafood, and one of the most extensive wine lists on the coast.
A unique port on the prime meridian
Saltea has been welcoming guests since 2012 at the Marina Greenwich port, the Luis Campomanes marina, located exactly on the 000º 00' 00'' meridian. Surrounded by beaches, coves and mountains, the restaurant has a Mediterranean-style interior, understated and warm, and an arcaded terrace where you can hear the sea and watch the boats.
Local produce and rice from Pego
The kitchen follows a “zero-kilometre” philosophy: quality local produce and daily visits to the markets in search of the best seafood. Their rice dishes and paellas are made with bomba rice from Pego, saffron from La Mancha and fish stock. The menu is rounded off with oysters, fish from the fish market grilled, cooked over embers or baked, and meats such as Galician beef tenderloin or lamb chops.
- Lobster paellawith cuttlefish and monkfish (min. 2 people)
- Black ricewith cuttlefish, prawn and natural ink
- Bluefin tuna tartarewith vodka-macerated strawberries
- Smoked rock octopuswith rosemary, roasted cherry tomatoes and red vermouth
- Sea bass baked in saltfor two
- Basque-style cheesecakewith salted caramel and pistachios
A cellar for wine lovers
Saltea prides itself on one of the most extensive wine lists on the coast, with the finest Spanish wines to accompany every dish. The restaurant is open every day from 13:00 to 22:00.
