Smoke and tapas in the shadow of the church
On Xàbia's Plaça de l'Església, La Sucrería de la Plaça serves home-cooked fusion food, smoked specialities made in-house and good wines, with a terrace on the square.
Café, wine bar and tapas bar
That is how La Sucrería de la Plaça introduces itself on its sign: a bar-restaurant in the heart of Xàbia's old town, just behind the church. Outside, the terrace is a front-row seat to the rhythm of the square, whether for an unhurried lunch or a drink as evening falls; inside, the cosy dining room is a retreat for the cooler months.
Smoked in-house
The cooking is home-made and fusion: Spanish tapas favourites with influences from the Mediterranean and beyond. Its reputation rests on the smoked specialities made in-house, such as the pulled pork and BBQ ribs, served with rosemary fries and homemade coleslaw. A daily changing board adds vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Smoky Sundays and music nights
The «Smokey Sunday» events bring together the best of the menu in a special set menu, with reservations essential, while live music nights add an extra spark. A carefully chosen selection of wines and beers accompanies the table; the house also hosts private parties and offers gift vouchers.
