New shop in the Jávea´s Port

We come from a family that started in the hotel business in 1963 when they opened a chiringuito on the Arenal beach in Jávea that over the years became a restaurant and is currently consolidated as one of the longest-lived in the area of the Playa del Arenal, we are talking about La Fontana Restaurant. It is currently directed by the third generation Cruañes; Javier Vives Cruañes, who has developed his passion for good gastronomy.

His objective is to make his customers enjoy surrounded by good wines in the company of family and good friends. That is why the idea of making a small store with a short assortment of wines, some spirits and gourmet products arose, in order to offer its customers a complete experience; eat in the restaurant and be able to buy the wines that have captivated them.

Thus, in 2019 he carried out the opening of the store, right in the same restaurant and under the name of El Celler de La Fontana. After months of preparation, he selected a wide variety of the best wines, Premium drinks and also a small selection of gourmet products such as cheeses, pates and foies, Iberian pork, pickles, etc.

Spanish gastronomy is bigger than we imagine and covers many types of products, quality products that deserve to be known and, of course, tasted. Therefore, it was brought out to bring many more novelties to the store such as jams, chocolates, spices, more pickles and preserves,... and the store became small.

In 2022 the opportunity arose to acquire a premises in the Port of Jávea. A place with more than 200m2, divided into two floors which would be perfect to use as a warehouse for the restaurants of the La Fontana Group (La Fontana Restaurant and Posidonia Restaurant), but then we had a crazy idea, the idea of expanding the store, to further develop our project and add new features such as a tasting room in which to hold events. So we got to work on a reform that lasted a few months. Arrived in 2023, after finalizing details we finally opened our doors in June. In this new store we can offer a complete gastronomic experience. We have a wide assortment of wines with national and international designation of origin, a wide variety of the best Premium liquors on the market such as Vodkas, Rums, Gins, Whiskeys, Tequilas, etc. Our gourmet section is prepared to satisfy all palates.

Proof of this are the Iberian cheeses, pates and foies, pickles, preserves,... and to finish off our meat section where you can find entrecotes and T-bone steaks. However, we do not forget about dessert. You will find a rich variety of Lebanese sweets, chocolates, cakes and pastries that can be accompanied by a good sweet wine, mistelas or herberos.

Little by little we will be incorporating new features. We are very excited about this new project, which is already a reality, and we really want to give our best and receive our clients as they deserve.
