MERCADER DE INDIAS - Carlos Serra

A space that Carlos Serra, from Mercader de Indias, has divided into three areas, the living room, the dining room and a work area that can be integrated or separated from the rest of the room by a walnut wood panel with geometric designs.

Undoubtedly the walnut from the firm l’Antic Colonial is one of the great protagonists of this house, also present in floors, furniture, dressing room, kitchen and even in the bathrooms.

The dining area is also marked by a rug on which a rectangular walnut table and eight leather-upholstered armchairs are located. On the table are two old pieces of paper mache from the Rajasthan area of ​​India. A dining room that highlights, in addition to the Valdés painting, the five-light skan lamp by Vibia and two Porada sideboards that give a symmetry to this dining room only broken by the sculpture located in front of the Valdés menina.

In the kitchen, which is integrated with the rest of the house through a glass and metal fixture, we find an island / bar with stools and a circular table with four chairs on which the Smithfield lamp by Flos is located.

The Porcelanosa kitchen, in nuclear white, to make the most of the entrance of light from the gallery, stands out for its elegance and sobriety. A white that combined with the stone colors of the furniture textiles, the wallpaper and together with the walnut, create a very cozy space to enjoy every day.

The main room dressed in different shades of sand and with a touch of white in the Vibia Myfair lamps, becomes a quiet space that transmits a perfect peace and balance for rest. As a prelude to this room, we find a large dressing room from the Gama Decor firm with a pathwork carpet in sand colors on which two Barcelona stools rest in the same color line.

The main bathroom in Persian White marble by l’Antic Colonial stands out for its straight and sober lines, the storage capacity, both in the large drawers and in the walnut wood paneled front cabinet and the narrow herringbone pattern in calacatta marble that create a dimensional effect in the shower.

For the children’s room, Serra has chosen a marked wallpaper from the firm Elite Decor with drawings of a fox, a motif with which the textile has also been made on cushions, plaid and pouf, creating a very fairy-like atmosphere.

The courtesy bathroom follows the same refined line as the rest of the house, with warm wallpaper and walnut furniture.

Serra has designed an elegant but warm home, a balance that is difficult to achieve in such spacious rooms but that the interior designer executes to perfection.
