On September 12, the Trixàbia - IV Memorial Edu Monfort took place in the coastal town of Jávea for yet another year.
With an attendance of around 650 athletes, including 6 brave paratriathletes, the participants were able to enjoy a sunny day, with optimal conditions to enjoy this sport.
The epicenter of this test was the Arenal beach, and from there, the athletes performed the three segments of the triathlon, which was a success and developed without regretting any incident.
The champion of this IX edition of TriXàbia, IV Memorial Edu Monfort was Mark Tanner in the Olympic modality, with a total time of 02:01:21. (Also winner of the 2019 edition). Behind Mark Tanner, the second was Rafael Madrid in 02:03:06, and the third was Jorge Llácer, who reached the finish line in 02:04:06.
In women, in Olympic modality, the first was Blanca Salvador with a time of 2:18:41, second, Inge Van Den Broeck 2:22:01 and the
third, Carolina Fernández, with a time of 2:22:02.
In Sprint mode, the first three men to reach the finish line were Arturo Bolufer with a time of 01:01:51, the second Adrián Ivars with a
time of 01:02:26 and the third, Vicente Ginestar with 01:03:09.
In women, the first place went to Saida Perea, with a time of 01:12:14, the second Eva Martín-Moreno reaching the finish line at 01:12:26, and the third, Alma Quintana at 01:13:23.
This year the participation of several paratriathletes has been released, and it has been possible to experience the adapted sport live. A complicated event to organize, especially with the added extra of the pandemic, but thanks to the organizers, volunteers, Civil Protection, Red Cross, the Department of Sports and the local Police, it could be carried out without incident and thus enjoy a day sports in a place as wonderful as Jávea.
