At Class & Villas we recently visited La Fábrica by Borek, Jávea's reference showroom for outdoor furniture and parasols, on the occasion of a day that brought together several design, fashion and lifestyle brands under one roof. Beyond the social occasion, the visit gave us a clear read on where the taste of those who live — or want to live — the Mediterranean outdoors as another room of the house is heading.
Outdoor furniture is no longer «seasonal»
The first thing a space like La Fábrica by Borek confirms is that outdoor furniture has stopped being thought of as a seasonal purchase. The pieces we saw — modular sofas in woven fibres, aluminium structures with technical textiles highly resistant to sun and salt, and a palette of earth and raw tones that dialogues with the stone and Mediterranean vegetation — are designed to stay in place year-round, with the same durability and comfort standards as indoor furniture. For architects and interior designers working on Costa Blanca villas, this has a direct implication: the porch, terrace and covered veranda stop being an afterthought and start being designed as an outdoor room in its own right from the very first sketch.
Handcrafted accessories take on a life of their own
Alongside the furniture, several accessory and fashion brands — including Alicia Sarrio and Caravas — presented handmade pieces: bags in natural fibres and wood, Mediterranean-inspired jewellery. It's a trend that goes beyond textile decoration and reaches the guest directly: the same appreciation for noble materials and craftsmanship now sought in an outdoor kitchen or high-end joinery also extends to what the hostess wears on her own terrace.
Sensory wellbeing enters the outdoor living room
One of the spaces that caught our attention most was Casa Odor's, with its diffusers and home fragrances designed specifically for outdoor spaces. It's a clear signal of where high-end outdoor design is heading: good furniture and good lighting are no longer enough — the scent of the space is now deliberately curated too, following the same «complete sensory experience» logic that, until now, was reserved almost exclusively for a home's interior.
Why this matters to architects, interior designers, developers and buyers
For anyone designing, developing or buying a villa in the Costa Blanca North, days like this act as a reliable thermometer of which materials, finishes and suppliers are genuinely shaping the local luxury market — not at an international trade fair, but in the very context where these pieces will live. It's also why Class & Villas dedicates editorial space to these brands: they form part of the same ecosystem of specialist suppliers we recommend, alongside trusted architects and interior designers, in our Recomendados section.
