The story of La Perla de Jávea begins in the 1980s, when Antonio Box Butrón and Dolores Candela Quesada decided to embark on a culinary adventure by the sea. Driven by their love of Mediterranean cuisine and the natural environment that surrounded them, they founded this restaurant, which over time has become a landmark on the Costa Blanca.

 

With hard work, authenticity, and a firm commitment to quality, Antonio and Dolores, with the help of their children, laid the foundations for what is now an institution in Jávea. Today, their daughters, Sonia and Victoria Box Candela, have taken over the generational leadership, keeping their parents’ spirit alive and providing a modern and sophisticated approach without losing its essence.

Located opposite Arenal Beach, La Perla de Jávea boasts incomparable views of the bay, Cape San Antonio, and the imposing Montgó. From its spacious terrace, you can enjoy golden sunsets, sun-drenched lunches, and dinners with the sea breeze as your companion. Special mention goes to the Godello with Doña Blanca “Azura” and the round Ribera wine, Animam Viventem, produced by winemaker Víctor García, a friend and regular customer of the house. This is yet another example of how wine, at La Perla, is also a matter of connections and emotions.

The desserts at La Perla have soul. They’re not only the perfect finishing touch to a good meal, but they also tell a story. One of the house’s proudest dishes is its Tarte Tatin, made since 1984 using the same original recipe. A dessert that has stood the test of time and continues to captivate palates today with its authentic flavor and unmistakable texture.
