OROPESA HOUSE - sea views property

This house by the Perretta Arquitectura studio is located on a steep site overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the coastal town of Oropesa del Mar. The project is developed by generating a volume on three floors, which adapts perfectly to the topography of the place, thus respecting the natural profile of the rocky terrain. The implantation of the house on the plot is carried out looking for the best orientation to take advantage of the views towards the Mediterranean Sea, the sun and the refreshing breezes of the Levant. All this creating a succession of very pleasant spaces.

The structure, made up of “CHE” lightened concrete slabs, is anchored to the rock creating three horizontal platforms that descend down the slope. The wide horizontal concrete planes that float between glass panes delimit the interior spaces, generating pure geometric volumes with large terraces, which project shadow lines on the three levels.

On the upper platform, located at the level of the street, we find the main entrance of the house, the distributor, a reading room and the main suite, which enjoys the best views of the house. The reading room has a large window that frames wonderful views of the sea and connects with the double height of the living room, giving a great amplitude to the space.

The day program is developed on the intermediate platform, where the pool is the predominant element that brings us closer to the sea, built with a 5-meter overhang so that the volume generated does not remove views of the lower floor. The wall of the pool that faces the sea is glazed so that when you are submerged in it you can see the horizon line.

The living-dining room and kitchen are located on this floor, which open onto a large terrace facing the sea, being an extension of the interior by means of large mobile glass panels. The living-dining room is in a strategic position with a double orientation towards the exterior terrace and an interior patio, allowing to take advantage of the breezes. The kitchen is perfectly positioned with the living-dining room and has direct access from the access level through a service ramp. The kitchen is designed to be the place where daily life takes place, so it is an extension of the living-dining room, also having a direct connection with the large terrace.

On the lower floor, the rock has been excavated, generating an entrance of light to the distribution core and the staircase, thus creating a connection with the excavated topography of the mountain.

It is thus avoided that that space remains interior and dark; Through it we access the game room, the guest room, the laundry room and the three children’s rooms. We have thus achieved that all the parts of the house have views of the sea, adapting to the difficult topography, also avoiding that the pool is a visual obstacle on that lower floor.
