FABRELLAS HOUSE - Antonio Altarriba Arquitecto

Three bodies, two of them with a sloping roof that serve to house the day area, and take advantage of all the volume generated by its own geometry and a third plane, where the night area is located, make up this single-family house in La Eliana, Valencia .

This detached house is accessed through its central part, through a double height that allows you to see the entire sloping space of the upper floor.

The house has on the ground floor with two bedrooms in “suite” format and the laundry room located in the volume with a flat roof, and the day area, consisting of the living-dining room-kitchen, on one side, and a toilet and storage room on the other. . The dining room is located in one of the volumes with a sloping roof, in direct connection with the kitchen, establishing a visual relationship with the study in the upper part that is located on the first floor of the second double-height volume.

On the first floor there is a study that is completely related to the entrance and the living room, and there is also a room with a bathroom.

In the basement there is a garage, machine rooms and a multipurpose room with a toilet.

The intention of the project is to completely connect the interior with the exterior, despite its solid image, in which the masonry walls are the ones that mark the axes and contain the different spaces. The architectural language is very clear, masonry walls containing concrete slabs with wood and glass enclosures.

In all the rooms, the south orientation is sought, causing in almost all cases cross ventilation that allows habitability in a completely natural and ecological way. In fact, the electrical energy is produced through photovoltaic solar panels perfectly integrated with the roof planes, to which is added the great thermal inertia of its stone walls and the double vents, they minimize consumption to the maximum. energetic,

The interior extends to the exterior through a porch that is part of the volumes of the sloping roof, and that is limited by minimalist windows where the glass protected by the concrete flights of the imposts of the slabs predominates.

The pergola causes a very interesting game of shadows that throughout the day draw variable geometries depending on the height of the sun.

The pool is integrated with the terrace as it is covered with the same material, a sand-colored porcelain stoneware that generates a very special turquoise color in the water.

The nobility of the building’s composition is sought through the natural ipe wood enclosures, splinted white concrete, glass and natural masonry stone.
