5 common questions when buying a fan

1. Respect the space of the room:

When buying a fan it is important to take into account the size of the room, the distance from the ceiling and the adjoining furniture. These measurements must be taken into account according to the diameter of the fan blades in question:

-  For rooms between 17.6 - 28 m2, the diameter must be greater than 132cm,

   like the POLARIS model.

- For rooms between 13 -17.6m2, the diameter must be between 107-132 cm,

   like the SIOUX model

- And for the smallest rooms, less than 13 m2, the diameter has to be less than 107cm,

   like the MINI ICARIA model

- For outdoor spaces such as terraces, entrances or porches, it is very important that the fan

has IP44 so that it is prepared for environmental adversities such as humidity. The TYPHOON

or WINCHE models are outdoor fans.

It is also important to respect the 20cm distance between the fan blades and the furniture, or the fan and the wall. It is the minimum distance to ensure optimal air movement.

2. The importance of the sloping roof:

If the fan is to be installed in a room with a sloping ceiling, we must take into account whether the chosen model is suitable for it. The fin on the pitched roof fans allows certain degrees of tilt to adjust the seatpost. Its installation is the same as when the ceiling is not sloped, it should only be adjusted according to the need.

The ICARIA, LUZON and LANTAU models are suitable for pitched roofs.

3. Synchronize remote control and receiver

Most of the Faro Barcelona fans include a remote control, except those that work with chains; These are compatible with kits 33937 and 33929.

4. Measurement and direction of the blades

The number of blades directly influences the amount of breeze: fewer blades more air. For example, the LAMA model, which has two blades, is ideal for large spaces. The fans with more blades, such as the LEYTE that has five, serve to slightly cool the rooms.

In addition, some fans change the direction of movement of the blades, which include the reverse function to improve the heating system in winter: there are two types of fans, some in which this function is activated through the control and others where to stop. to change the rotation of the blades you must activate the switch located above the motor.

5. DC motor

There are more efficient engines than others. Fans with a DC motor are usually characterized by being more efficient and allowing higher speeds. Although they are quieter, it does not mean that the ACs are not, both are motors and therefore generate a small monotonous noise, suitable for sleeping.

6. Consumption

The consumption of a fan depends mainly on two factors:

- The speed of operation. Most fans have at least three speeds, like the LANTAU, but there are models that have more, like the SIOUX that has six. It depends on the room where you want to install it, we must take it into account. If it is in the bedroom, one that consumes little and makes little noise is better, but if it is for a common space, we will need one that has different speeds and projects much more air.

- If it has light or not. Lighted fans are a good option because they solve two problems at the same time. The ICARIA model, for example, includes light and is ideal for large spaces. In that case, your consumption will be higher.
