From October 18 to 21, the 34th edition of the Gourmets Show was held in Ifema (Madrid) with a resounding success of participation, 1,500 exhibitors and 37,000 quality products exhibited. The largest Food and Quality Products Fair in Europe that once again brought together the best gourmet product in this edition.
During the first day, the winner of the 27th Contest of Ham Cutters / Dehesa de Extremadura, the Galician Jorge Díaz Borreguero, and the Best Cachopo recipe made with IGP Ternera Asturiana made by the Río Astur Sidrería restaurant (Gijón).
Estrella Galicia held two contests around the draft of beer. In the Masters Edition, the winner was David Tena, from the Cervecería con Jota de Badajoz, who prevailed over the rest of the applicants both in the handling of the tap and in the bottle service, passing different tests and answering questions about the beer culture.
Expressive Purity Tasting of Jerez
Marcos Aguacil and Rocío Osborne presented their oenological jewels at the Purza Expresiva de Jerez tasting at Bodegas Osborne. Where the wines could be tasted: Coquinero Fino en Rama, La Honda Fino en Rama, La Honda Amontillado en Rama, Solera India, Medium, RARE Venerable and PX.
Cesal Social Gastronomy
On stage Cesal enjoyed the solidarity kitchens organized by the NGO Cesal and chef Chema de Isidro, with the collaboration of Taberner. Chefs Luis Barrutia, Alex Marugan, Sergio and Roberto Hernández, Jesús Flores and Aránzazu Barrutia, who prepared their creations, also participated in different show cooking.
11 Gourmet Cheeses, Championship of the Best Cheeses of Spain 2021
60 judges tasted the cheeses presented in the 15 categories of this contest. In each of them, the 3 best were awarded, as well as the absolute winner, Azul Savel.
Asiccaza Awards 2021
The journalist Eva Mª Rodrigo Sánchez presented this event where she awarded the chef Pepe Rodríguez, from the El Bohío restaurant, for his contribution to the use of game meat in his dishes.
Gourmets Group Awards
The Gourmets Group has rewarded excellence by awarding the awards
from the Club de Gourmets Magazine, Guía Vinos Gourmets and Liga’99. A recognition of the most relevant professionals in the gastronomic world, as well as establishments and the media and the wines that have stood out in editions 35 and 36 of the Wine Gourmet Guide. Finally, the ‘99 League awards were given to those wines that have achieved the highest score, 99 out of 100 points, awarded by the Gourmet Wine Guide Tasting Committee.
