Carlos Serra celebrates 30 years in the profession immersed in various projects, but undoubtedly the most rewarding, in his words, is the Casa Joaquina Hotel, a hotel in the Bolufer family’s palatial home, right in the center of Jávea, expected to open next summer.

The new hotel, located in the heart of Jávea, next to the market and the church of San Bartolomé, will have 19 rooms, a restaurant, a spa, and a gym, and undoubtedly the best views of Jávea, with the building’s 360-degree view of the entire bay and beautiful sunsets over the Montgó.

The hotel will maintain the essence of what was once the most stately home in Jávea, with rich ornamentation and numerous nods to its past.

The tosca stone, so prominent in the home, will be restored to its full beauty in the restaurant and common areas. The central courtyard terrace will undoubtedly be a meeting place for neighbors, vacationers, and tourists. A project that will undoubtedly transform the historic center of Jávea.

The recovered flooring will be used to give new life to this impressive building in the heart of the city. The moldings in the ladies’ round room, the ballroom, and the master bedroom will also be restored to their original splendor.

On the other hand, Carlos Serra recently opened his studio on Calle Pizarro in Valencia, and in Jávea, he is located in Hinédito, right in the Plaza de la Iglesia 10. His fruitful career is linked to the iconic Mercader de Indias store in Valencia, which for decades was a benchmark for interior design in the Valencian Community and from where he designed some of the city’s finest homes, restaurants, and shops.

His career in the hotel industry began with the design of the hotel for tennis player Juan Carlos Ferrero in Bocairent, a project similar to Casa Joaquina due to the building’s characteristics. Stores such as Hannover and Wolf and restaurants like Trinquet de Pelayo and Balneario de la Alameda have established him as one of Valencia’s finest interior designers.

Without a doubt, Carlos Serra’s style is unmistakable: elegant, serene, yet warm, a very difficult balance that Carlos masters perfectly.
