A beach bar facing the sea at La Granadella

In Granadella cove, in Jávea, La Bandideta is a beach bar for a stopover, a cool drink, something to nibble or a proper meal by the sea.

The white house, with its arches, bougainvillea and name in pink letters, faces the pebble beach of La Granadella, surrounded by pine trees and cliffs. The restaurant sums it up with its motto, #AbiertoConSol (‘open when it’s sunny’): it opens every day as long as the weather is good.

There are no bookings, and the day starts with breakfast; the menu then moves on to tapas, burgers, focaccias and dishes from the wood-fired oven, with cocktails and smoothies alongside.

A starting point

On its website, La Bandideta suggests several walking routes starting from the cove: to the Castell de la Granadella, a small 18th-century fort with views of Punta de Ambolo and Descubridor island; to Cap Prim, Cala Barraca and Cap de Sant Antoni. Back at the beach, its suggestion is a frozen drink and a pizzeta from the wood-fired oven.
